Candlelit concert of mesmerising medieval music including music by Hildegard of Bingen, chant and troubadour melodies.

“beguiling, Siren-like voices.. the fervent, florid chants of Hildegard of Bingen – so fragrant you can almost smell them...” BBC Music Magazine

“The vocal colours of the two principal singers complement each other well: Clare Norburn’s clear, silvery, bell-like soprano just the foil for Ariane Prüssner’s resonant wine-dark tones…” BBC Music Magazine

Booking fees apply. Tickets also available on the door.

Blurring the boundaries of what a concert is, distinctive medieval group The Telling brings you intimate “concert-theatre” pieces to transport you back to the Middle Ages through ballads, music, poetry and story-telling.

The Telling has a growing reputation for intimate, staged concerts to bring medieval music off the page and reach wider audiences. They create a different concert experience, combining ballads and upbeat instrumental dances with narrative, readings or film. They often perform some numbers while moving around the audience and using lighting and/or candlelight.
